I hired One Wave to help me rebuild my website, www.squatchontherocks.com and I am soooo happy I did. Since my business is based on the mainland, but I live in Hawaii, I needed someone who I felt really comfortable with and someone who truly understands how to build an online shopping cart website. My previous web guy disappeared on me, and I had no idea how to get into my website or make changes. It was outdated and I needed to do a new design anyway. I found One Wave Designs in a Google search and checked out their portfolio and was impressed with their work. Paul, Evan and the rest of the team were very, very quick to respond. We did an interview at their office (very, very cool inside!) and Paul took the time to explain all of the details of the job, asked a lot of questions I never thought about and really took the time to understand my needs and my business model. His graphic designer Amanda and Paul came up with a really great design layout and we worked together to make some changes before they build my new website. I never had a web designer take the time to actually create a custom website for me and it was actually a very fun process. One Wave came up with a beautiful layout and then had it up and running in just a few weeks! I couldn't be happier! My new website is beautiful and all of my customers tell me how much they love the new website. Before I hired One Wave, I was not showing up in Google. But after a few weeks, the website that One Wave did for me was already showing up on Page 1 in Google and is still moving up. Paul and his whole team were very easy to work with. One Wave Design came to our rescue when we needed help designing our logo for our shuttle/tour business. They emailed me a few samples of options to choose from and to say the least we were STOKED!!! This might be a bit off subject (or maybe not) but a cousin of mine who owns a business called me asking how much I'm spending to "own my category" on Google... Evidently he's spending a significant amount trying to get his company name higher on searches but can't manage to get his company to the first page much less one of the first names on a search! I didn't realize my company ranked so high in so many different categories but all I could say is it was because of "my web guy"! Sorry but I'm far from a tech/web expert but a lot of what Paul explained to me made perfectly good sense so I went with it! What do they say? The proof is in the pudding! Paul was really patient with me (due to my lack of understanding), he took the time to break things down in a way that I could understand which was the main thing that made me feel as comfortable with him... After our first meeting, I signed up! I walked out of his shop and cancelled all my other appointments because I knew I found the right guy! Really, if you're looking for a company that excels in webpage designs & SEO - doesn't it make sense to go to the first company that pops up on a Google search???

Not for everyone. From my own experience unless you are a large organization he may not be for you. I had hopes of creating something more than a personal blog and it was quite a painful journey of months of disappointment. Many times arriving to scheduled meetings only to learn that no progress had been made since the last one. I did learn a few key things from working with them - understand how much time it takes to write code and how any given page may take several hours to days and if just one line of code is off it is like having to read through a dictionary to find a typo - know what kinds of devices your anticipated web visitors may be using so the web design can be adjusted to fit their screens. - should you have a web design already in mind that may limit the enhancements or features that may be available - emails aren't always delivered to the recipients These were very helpful things they taught me which was useful in seeking out a web developer more suited for my project. As someone who was made to feel like her project was never a priority I'm sure it's just because it wasn't a major account and that's understandable. But what isn't is trying to talk a good game and only delivering heartbreak. Just trust your gut.

One Wave Designs works really hard at learning their customer's goals and understanding their business. Their designs are beautiful and generate great positioning on Google for your websites. They really make you feel like they care and want to establish a long-term relationship. Paul has been a tremendous help in our business. His SEO expertise has helped us improve our current website to be more visible to our target market. Even other businesses we know recommend Paul highly and speak of his team's great work in sending quality traffic to their websites. Indeed, Paul and his team have demonstrated constantly their superb SEO experience. Paul is also always responsive and accommodating plus a great professional to work with.

So, I've called Paul from One wave Design for an initial consult and it went well. He seemed like he knew what he was doing, and pretty confident. I checked his portfolios, and they looked pretty neat to me. But I don't feel like he is professional, efficient or reliable. After the first consult over the phone, Paul asked me to e mail him with some more details so that he can quote me a price. I sent the e mail right away,but a week later I stilll didn't get any feed back, so I called to follow up, but there was no one picking up, so I left a message. Still, after the voice message, I never heard anything back from him. Then two days ago(After total of 3 weeks since I first talked to him), I received an e mail from him saying "Have you been getting my e mails?".... I mean... I don't know. There could have been many ways he can contact me even if his e mails didn't go through. If you are looking for someone who is efficient and reliable, I don't think One Wave is the way to go. I've seen so many good ratings on Yelp about him, but it is disappointing that my experience wasn't like the positive ratings. He could be great in what he does, but if it is so hard to reach him or communicate, I rather have someone with less skills but easy to communicate and more professional. It is all about how reliable a person is when doing business. PS: i thought I should be fair, so after looking at Paul's comment below regarding my post, I have checked all of my e mail boxes including spam box, but I do not find any e mails from Paul.

The non-profit I currently worked for recently hired me mainly to work on their website, which was completely out of date and hardly visited. I had some new ideas for the site and Paul at One Wave Designs was really great in getting my ideas laid out and created into the brand new website we currently have up and running! He really understood the functionality I wanted to add to the site and did a great job of keeping in theme with our old website but bringing it into the modern internet world. Not being as HTML savy as I'd like, I am very glad that I decided to give One Wave Designs a call! The new CMS they used to build the site as well as the service has been amazing up until this point, a little over a month after the site has been ready to go live! This is displayed in the level of knowledge that he has about the infrastructure of the internet presently and also about where it is going in the future.

I pulled Paul into working on SEO for my site (sarasotaone.com) to point me in the right direction which was about 2 months ago. We are still in process but my site has come from obscurity to being close to or on top with many of the search phrases. He had great experience with other real estate sites similar to mine. We are not finished but so far we are ranking 20-40 on the major search phrases and our long tail searches are ranking much better, in most cases the first page. Also, our Alexa global traffic rank has moved up almost 8mil in the past 3 months :) All of this in just 2 months! He is also willing to go the extra mile to help without any nickle and diming. There is still a lot of work ahead I look forward to continued success on this project and hopefully some other new ventures!
